Security forces recover weapons cache in Bishnupur
BISHNUPUR, May 13, 2026:- Security forces conducted a successful recovery operation at Loktak Mapal near Keipha Road within the jurisdiction of Moirang Police Station in Bishnupur district on May 12.
During the search, officials seized a significant haul of arms and explosives, including one bolt action rifle and a 9 mm pistol complete with its magazine. The recovery highlights ongoing efforts to maintain safety and security in the region.
The seized inventory also contained a variety of explosive devices and specialized ammunition. Forces uncovered a 2-inch mortar shell, four HE 36 hand grenades, two smoke grenades, and an improvised rocket mortar.
Additionally, the team found three gelatin sticks, one anti-aircraft ammunition round, and twenty-eight rounds of ammunition of various calibers.
Further items recovered from the site included five ballistic cartridges, two stun grenades, a 2-inch Para ILL bomb, and two shotgun shells. Beyond weaponry, the security teams also located a Baofeng radio set and two bulletproof plates.
All recovered items have been taken into custody for further investigation as authorities continue to monitor the area for any additional threats.
