INS Shivaji marks passing out of 101st Marine Engineering Specialisation Course

LONAVALA, June 27, 2026 :- INS Shivaji, the premier training establishment for marine engineers, marked a significant milestone with the passing out ceremony of the 101st Marine Engineering Specialisation Course.

The event celebrated the successful graduation of 46 officers who underwent a rigorous 105-week training curriculum designed to prepare them for complex technical roles. The graduating batch included trainees from the Indian Coast Guard alongside international officers representing seven friendly foreign nations, all trained to meet emerging global maritime challenges and enhance technical excellence across fleets.

The ceremonial passing out parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral B Sivakumar, Chief of Materiel, Naval Headquarters, who also presented awards to the officers who demonstrated academic and practical excellence throughout the demanding course.

The long-term training program at the institute focused on engineering competencies, fleet maintenance, and advanced maritime systems, reinforcing the facility’s role as a preferred training partner.

The newly graduated officers are now set to deploy across various naval platforms, ready to lead engineering divisions and secure maritime frontiers.
