Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather Reviews Development Progress and Public Grievances in Budgam

BUDGAM, JUNE 27: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather visited the revered Ziyarat of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani at Dreygam in Budgam district to review ongoing and proposed development projects and interact directly with local residents.

During the visit, the Speaker listened to public demands and grievances, assuring the community that their genuine concerns would be addressed on a priority basis. He informed the gathering that development and beautification works worth approximately ₹40 lakh have already been approved for the shrine, with tenders floated and execution set to commence shortly.

Local residents also requested the construction of a protective wall for the shrine and a direct pathway connecting the Eidgah park to the shrine for easier public access.Following his visit to the shrine, the Speaker inspected Nallah Shaliganga, where local residents raised a long-pending demand for the construction of a bridge across the nallah at Reshweni-Tilwandaji near the playground to improve area connectivity. In response, Rather directed the concerned officers to prepare a Detailed Project Report for the proposed bridge at the earliest. He noted that the bridge would significantly enhance local connectivity, facilitate hassle-free movement for residents, and benefit a large population living in the surrounding and adjoining areas. The Speaker concluded his tour by visiting Banderpora and Kremshore villages, where he held interactions with various public delegations, assessed their local issues, and reiterated his commitment to sustained developmental efforts for the overall welfare of the region.
