Reasi Police Crackdown on Narcotics: Four Booked Under NDPS Act to Boost Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan
REASI, JULY 18: In a major push toward achieving a drug-free society, the Reasi Police have intensified their ongoing crackdown against substance abuse by booking four individuals under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act across the district.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding public drug consumption near Gran Morh, the Reasi Police Station registered three separate cases under Section 8/27 of the NDPS Act. The accused have been identified as Mohd. Jameel of Getanager, alongside Mohd. Sadeeq and Akesh Panday, both residents of Gran Morh. In a parallel operation executed by the Katra Police at Ambika Chowk, authorities apprehended Gurjeet Singh of Ramnagar, Udhampur, after he was found in a heavily intoxicated state.
Singh was immediately shifted to CHC Katra, where a medical evaluation using a Rapid Multi Drug Testing Kit confirmed he tested positive for THC (cannabis consumption), leading to a fourth FIR being lodged. With all four cases currently under formal investigation, district authorities have reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on narcotics and urged the public to actively support the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan by reporting any suspicious illicit drug trade or abuse to the police.
