Jammu and Kashmir Rainfall Update: Heavy Downpour Lashes Reasi, Rajouri, and Udhampur; Kashmir Sees Mixed Precipitation
SRINAGAR JULY 19: Intense rains hammered several parts of the Jammu region over the last 24 hours, while the Kashmir valley experienced widespread light to heavy localized showers, according to data compiled by Kashmir Weather. Statistics recorded until 8:30 a.m. today reveal that Reasi received the highest downpour in the union territory with a staggering 106.5 mm of rainfall, closely followed by Rajouri at 103.0 mm and Udhampur at 101.6 mm. Other areas in the Jammu region also witnessed heavy precipitation, including Katra at 85.0 mm, Poonch at 77.0 mm, Batote at 57.2 mm, and Ramban at 9.0 mm. Meanwhile, Kishtwar recorded 3.0 mm, Kathua 2.2 mm, Samba and Bhaderwah noted minor accumulation at 1.0 mm and 0.2 mm respectively, while Banihal saw 0.5 mm. The main city of Jammu recorded no rainfall, while the Jammu Airport noted a trace. Data for Doda was unavailable.
In the Kashmir region, weather conditions varied significantly as Asham registered a heavy local downpour of 41.0 mm, followed by Batkoot at 28.0 mm. Sonamarg recorded 7.5 mm, Pahalgam 6.6 mm, Srinagar 4.0 mm, and both Ganderbal and Sangam reported 3.5 mm. Kokernag noted 2.2 mm, while Pampore, Budgam, Khudwani, and Wular each recorded 1.0 mm. Lower volumes were seen in Kupwara at 0.6 mm and Pulwama at 0.5 mm, alongside Qazigund at 0.1 mm. A trace of rain was recorded at the Srinagar Airport and Awantipora. Gulmarg and Baramulla remained completely dry, while data for Anantnag, Bandipora, Shopian, and Kulgam was unavailable at the time of compilation.
