Rajouri Flash Floods: Indian Army’s White Knight Corps Rescues 11 Stranded Civilians, Including 5 Children
RAJOURI JULY 19 : In a swift and coordinated multi-agency effort, troops of the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, alongside the Jammu and Kashmir Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local civil administration, successfully rescued 11 civilians following severe flash floods in the Rajouri district.
Braving dangerous floodwaters and rapid currents, rescue teams saved nine individuals, including five children, who were stranded across a swelling watercourse (nala) near Churung Village, located south of Thanamandi. Simultaneously, two youths marooned on a river island in the Naushera Tawi near Dhangri were safely pulled to security.
The rapid response, exceptional courage, and seamless teamwork among the security forces and local administration ensured that every trapped life was accounted for and brought to safety, reinforcing the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to protecting citizens during natural disasters.
