Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visits ancient Vichar Nag Shrine in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, July 19: The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the ancient shrine of Vichar Nag in Srinagar today, where he offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of all.

During his visit, Sinha interacted with devotees and reviewed the ongoing renovation works at the historic site. He described the revival of the sacred temple as a vital step toward preserving the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Jammu Kashmir, noting that for millennia, the temple has anchored the spiritual, intellectual, and philosophical journey of India by serving as a historic bridge that connects the past, present, and future.

Speaking to the media, Sinha expressed deep satisfaction over the restoration of the site, which once served as a vibrant hub of knowledge attracting scholars from across the globe for intellectual discourse. He congratulated everyone associated with the initiative and noted that after a long hiatus, devotees gathered at the shrine today to perform Yajna and Havan.

He highlighted that the sacred space has been associated with great scholars like Abhinavagupta for more than 2,000 years, drawing ancient thinkers to deliberate on subjects ranging from spirituality to mathematics.

Sinha expressed hope that this revival would foster a renewed dialogue on knowledge, science, and modernity while ushering in peace for the region.The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied during the visit by DIG CKR Rajiv Pandey, Srinagar Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo, Srinagar SSP GV Sundeep Chakravarthy, and other senior officials.
