Amritsar Police Bust Illegal Arms Smuggling Module Linked to Pakistan Drones

AMRITSAR, May 13, 2026:- The Commissionerate Police Amritsar has successfully dismantled an illegal arms smuggling network with the arrest of five individuals, including one juvenile. The arrested adults have been identified as Akashdeep Singh, also known as Akash, Harmandeep Singh, Manish Singh, and Kishan Singh.

During the targeted operation, law enforcement officials recovered six sophisticated pistols and 14 live cartridges from the possession of the accused.A preliminary investigation into the module revealed that Akashdeep Singh was maintaining contact with smugglers based in Pakistan through various social media platforms.

The network utilized drones to smuggle consignments of illegal weapons across the border in the Attari sector, which were then distributed to criminal elements with the assistance of his associates.

A formal case has been registered at the Cantonment Police Station, and further investigations are currently underway to uncover deeper links to the smuggling operation.
