Udhampur Reasi Fire Services Honor Fallen Heroes and Launch Safety Awareness Week
UDHAMPUR, April 14, 2026:-The Fire and Emergency Services Command for Udhampur and Reasi marked Fire Service Day today with a series of commemorative events held at the Udhampur station.
This annual observance serves as a profound tribute to the courage of firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten. Led by Assistant Director Sarvesh Langer, the program opened with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony, where personnel gathered to pay their respects to the martyrs.
The event highlighted the department’s unwavering “Service Before Self” mission, reflecting on a year of bravery and successful emergency responses across the region.
During the ceremony, Sarvesh Langer commended the staff for their dedication over the past year and outlined a proactive strategy for the coming months. The department plans to build on previous successes by intensifying community outreach and fire prevention programs.
These initiatives are specifically designed to educate the public on how to identify hazards and implement safety measures in homes and workplaces. By maintaining a high level of readiness and public engagement, the command aims to significantly reduce the frequency of fire-related incidents throughout the Udhampur and Reasi districts.
The observance concluded with a formal Fire Safety Pledge, where officers and firefighters reaffirmed their commitment to protecting public life and property, even at great personal risk.
This pledge serves as the starting point for a week-long campaign featuring live demonstrations and specialized training exercises throughout the command.
These activities are intended to sharpen the skills of the emergency teams while providing citizens with practical knowledge on how to remain vigilant and prepared for fire challenges in their daily lives.
