Reasi SSP Chairs Security Review Meeting for Independence Day and Pilgrimages

REASI, Aug 10 — Senior Superintendent of Police Mukund Tibrewal chaired a Subsidiary Multi-Agency Centre meeting at District Police Lines Reasi to review security arrangements for Independence Day and upcoming pilgrimages, including the Kousar Nag Yatra and Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Police, Army, CRPF, CISF, SSB, JKAP, and intelligence agencies, with local station house officers joining virtually. Discussions centered on counter-terrorism protocols, law and order management, surveillance of suspicious individuals, anti-sabotage checks, and intelligence-led operations across the district.

The SSP instructed security forces to step up vigilance around key infrastructure, including the Chenab Bridge, Anji Bridge, and nearby railway installations. Directions were issued to conduct area domination along pilgrimage routes, engage Village Defence Groups in remote villages, utilize drone surveillance, and ensure seamless inter-agency coordination.

Disaster management teams were also advised to maintain readiness for monsoon-related emergencies during the events.
