Minister Sakeena Itoo Reviews Jammu Department Operations and Flood Restoration Works

JAMMU, Aug 10 — Health, Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo chaired a high-level review meeting at the Civil Secretariat to assess the functioning of key departments and track the progress of restoration works following recent cloudbursts across the Jammu division.

During the meeting, the minister directed departments to adopt resilient, cost-effective construction technologies capable of withstanding recurring natural disasters while reviewing infrastructure repairs, road macadamization, and water supply restorations in affected areas like Rajouri.

She also evaluated healthcare readiness for monsoon-related illnesses, instructing health, education, and water supply authorities to execute joint field operations to prevent dengue outbreaks, maintain hospital hygiene, and equip diagnostic laboratories for rapid testing.

Emphasizing administrative efficiency and accountability, Minister Itoo ordered seamless inter-departmental coordination to guarantee the uninterrupted distribution of essential commodities, prompt delivery of citizen services, and effective implementation of public welfare schemes throughout the region.
