Punjab Police Director General Gaurav Yadav Reviews Security Preparedness Ahead of Independence Day 2026

JALANDHAR, Aug 10 — Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav conducted a comprehensive security review in Jalandhar to assess the operational preparedness of the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar and the Jalandhar Range ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

The strategic briefing followed a similar evaluation in Amritsar, focusing on threat perception and protective measures across Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, and SBS Nagar.

The high-level security meeting brought together key law enforcement leadership, including the Additional Director General of Police for State Armed Police, the Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, the Deputy Inspector General Jalandhar, district Superintendents of Police, all Gazetted Police Officers, and Station House Officers from the participating districts.

During the session, the DGP emphasized the necessity of heightened vigilance, flexible force deployment, and rapid response capabilities to ensure public safety and maintain order during national festivities.

Expressing appreciation for the dedication of the force, the police chief instructed officers to maintain high alertness, accessibility, and responsiveness across all jurisdictions to guarantee secure environments for citizens.
