Samba Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers and Seize Over 22 Grams of Heroin
SAMBA, August 10, 2026 — Samba Police have arrested two drug peddlers and seized approximately 22.10 grams of a heroin-like substance during an operation in the Vijaypur area.
Acting on specific information, a police team set up a vehicle check point along the Rahya-Ranjri link road and intercepted a motorcycle carrying two individuals.A search of the riders led to the recovery of the contraband, resulting in the immediate arrest of Mangat Ram and Vikram Singh, both residents of the Akhnoor area in Jammu district.
Law enforcement officials seized the illegal substance along with the motorcycle. A case has been registered at the Vijaypur police station under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and an investigation is underway to trace both the upstream suppliers and downstream links of the narcotic network.
