Udhampur Farmers Depart for Apiculture Exposure Visit to KVK Pathankot​

UDHAMPUR, Aug 10 — A group of 25 farmers from various parts of Udhampur district embarked on a training-cum-exposure visit to Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Pathankot, Punjab. Organized by the District Apiculture Development scheme under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency initiative, the tour was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa alongside Chief Agriculture Officer Vikas Padha and other district officials.​

During the visit, participants will interact with agricultural scientists and progressive farmers to learn about modern beekeeping techniques, honey processing, value addition, packaging, and marketing strategies.

Interacting with the group prior to departure, Deputy Commissioner Sherpa emphasized that exposure programs allow farmers to adopt scientific practices that enhance agricultural productivity and livelihood opportunities.

Agriculture officials added that such capacity-building efforts play a vital role in advancing apiculture and allied sectors throughout the region.
