Tiger Division Concludes Specialized Counter Terrorism Training for Jammu and Kashmir Police
Jammu: 18 April 2026:- The Tiger Division successfully concluded a specialized Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorism Refresher Course for Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel today.
The intensive training program, which ran from 07 to 18 April 2026, was designed through a collaborative vision between the Indian Army and J&K Police leadership to sharpen the operational skills and coordination of the police force within the region’s complex security landscape.
A total of 108 police personnel participated in the regimen conducted by the Miran Sahib Brigade, focusing heavily on empowering junior officers to lead small-team operations with precision and confidence.
The training curriculum provided the police personnel with a deep dive into modern tactical procedures, including Small Team Operations, Quick Reaction Team drills, and Mobile Vehicle Check Post maneuvers.
Participants practiced essential combat techniques such as ambush and counter-ambush tactics, cordon and search operations, and room intervention.
To ensure the force is prepared for contemporary threats, the course also featured technical modules on drone identification, counter-drone measures, and the utilization of high-tech surveillance equipment.
These sessions were complemented by instruction in advanced weapon firing, intelligence collection, and emergency casualty evacuation.By prioritizing hands-on rehearsals and tactical exercises, the course allowed the J&K Police personnel to gain practical mastery over sophisticated equipment and battlefield strategies.
This training initiative serves as a major step in consolidating the strengths of the police force, fostering a culture of shared situational awareness and disciplined response.
The successful culmination of the program reflects the ongoing dedication of both the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police to working in tandem to ensure the continued peace, stability, and security of the region.
