MK Stalin Criticizes TVK Government Following Assembly Confidence Motion Victory
Chennai, May 13, 2026 :- Former Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin issued a strongly worded statement on social media following the floor test in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, accusing the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam of engaging in unethical political practices.
Stalin clarified that the DMK chose to boycott the trust vote and stage a walkout to demonstrate that his party would not be an obstacle to the formation or continuation of the TVK government. He expressed his gratitude to allied members from the DMDK, MMK, and other partner organizations who also joined the walkout in a show of solidarity.
While acknowledging that some allies like the CPI, CPI(M), VCK, and IUML voted in favor of the government to prevent the imposition of President’s Rule in the state, Stalin leveled serious allegations against the ruling party’s conduct.
He claimed that despite promising clean politics, the TVK had resorted to “dirty politics” by allegedly poaching members from the divided AIADMK to secure their numbers.
Stalin questioned the integrity of the administration, asking whether the party’s true power lay in its principles or in its ability to lure legislators from other camps.
He concluded by asserting that the DMK would remain steadfast in its ideology and continue to function as a constructive opposition, while the public observes how the government rewards those who crossed over.
