SSB Conducts Joint Disaster Management Mock Drill at Bomdila Nala in Tawang

Tawang, May 13, 2026:- The 38th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal successfully organized a comprehensive disaster rescue and relief exercise at Bomdila Nala on May 12, 2026, to enhance emergency preparedness.

The mock drill focused on the critical importance of rapid response and inter-agency coordination in life-saving operations during natural calamities. A total of 179 personnel participated in the exercise, which simulated real-time disaster scenarios to test operational readiness and tactical efficiency in the challenging Himalayan terrain.

The joint exercise saw active participation from several key organizations, including the 190 Brigade of the Indian Army, National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, and the Fire Brigade. Other contributing units included the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, SSB Rapid Response Team, Arunachal Pradesh Police, Civil Police, District Disaster Management Officer, and National Cadet Corps. Together, these teams demonstrated effective techniques for safe rescue maneuvers, the administration of emergency first aid, and the swift evacuation of victims from high-risk zones.

This collaborative drill served as a powerful example of the seamless synergy and technical expertise shared among India’s various security and disaster management agencies.

By streamlining communication and evacuation protocols, the participating officers and jawans ensured they are better equipped to handle future battlefield or environmental requirements.

The successful completion of this program reaffirms the commitment of these forces to maintaining the highest standards of excellence and readiness for any emergency situation.
