JK Government Approves Rs 19.61 Crore Sewerage Project For Srinagar Localities
SRINAGAR, August 02 — The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned a major sewerage infrastructure project worth Rs 19.61 crore aimed at transforming sanitation standards in several key areas of Srinagar. The comprehensive project will cover Ahmed Nagar, Pandach, Illahi Bagh, the right side of 90 Feet Road, Rangpora Zakura, and Ghulab Bagh.
Designed to address long-standing sanitation needs, the initiative marks a strategic effort to upgrade civic amenities in rapidly expanding residential belts.Under the new initiative, a modern sewerage network will be constructed to enable the scientific collection, treatment, and disposal of wastewater across the designated neighborhoods.
Authorities expect the planned infrastructure to significantly lower the risk of water contamination, protect public health, and prevent environmental degradation. Once operational, the system will support sustainable urban growth while fostering cleaner and healthier living conditions for thousands of residents across Srinagar.
