Indian Army Deploys Columns to Lead Flood Relief and Rescue Operations in Surat

SURAT, AUGUST 01, 2026 — In response to heavy, relentless rainfall and severe flooding in Kadodara Village, Surat District, the Indian Army deployed dedicated flood relief columns to provide urgent assistance to stranded and affected residents. Operating under the Southern Command, army personnel joined forces with the local civil administration to execute swift rescue operations across the inundated area.

Equipped with motorized rescue boats and essential life-saving equipment, the teams successfully rescued 34 civilians from high-risk zones, relocated vulnerable families to safer shelter locations, and distributed critical relief materials to over 400 affected people. Army units remain actively positioned on the ground to provide continuous aid and stay prepared for any further contingencies as monsoon conditions persist.
