Javid Dar Reviews Jammu Division Rural Development Initiatives, Urges Timely Work Execution
JAMMU, AUGUST 01, 2026 — Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, chaired a comprehensive review meeting today in Jammu to evaluate the execution and physical progress of flagship schemes across the Jammu Division. Key programs discussed during the session included PMAY-G, SBM-G, NRLM, G-RAM-G, RGSA, and IWMP, all aimed at bolstering rural infrastructure, expanding livelihood avenues, and upgrading basic service delivery across local villages.
During the meeting, Minister Javid Dar directed departmental officials to uphold strict standards of transparency and accountability while adhering to fixed project deadlines. Highlighting priorities such as water conservation, rural employment, and community-driven development, he stressed that the Omar Abdullah-led administration remains committed to strengthening grassroots Panchayati Raj Institutions and delivering inclusive, people-centric governance. Director Rural Development Jammu, Shahnaz Akhter, delivered a detailed presentation on the division’s current physical and financial progress, after which the Minister instructed field officers to conduct regular site inspections to resolve implementation bottlenecks promptly.
