Union Government Approves Over 2100 Crore SDRF Advance for Flood Affected States

New Delhi, August 1, 2026 :- Union Home Minister Amit Shah approved the advance release of Rs 2,117.85 crore from the Central share of the State Disaster Response Fund to support seven states hit by southwest monsoon floods. The financial aid aims to strengthen ongoing relief, rescue, and rehabilitation measures across affected regions.

The Central Government continues to monitor the flood situation in close coordination with state governments while providing logistical support and deploying National Disaster Response Force teams wherever required.To assess the ground situation, Inter-Ministerial Central Teams visited Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, with a team also being constituted for Nagaland following a request from the state government.

Out of the total package, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Odisha were sanctioned Rs 500 crore each. Assam received Rs 379.35 crore, Himachal Pradesh was allocated Rs 193.95 crore as its second installment, and Arunachal Pradesh was granted Rs 44.55 crore. Guidelines were relaxed to fast-track fund releases for states requiring immediate financial resources for emergency operations.
