Jammu and Kashmir Weather Forecast and Flash Flood Warning Issued for Next Five Days

SRINAGAR, August 2: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a fresh weather update predicting light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir over the next several days.

Between August 2 and August 4, multiple areas are expected to receive rainfall spells during the afternoon, evening, and early morning hours, with the possibility of heavy to torrential rain in a few districts.The wet spell is forecasted to persist from August 5 to August 7, bringing light to moderate showers across many places alongside brief intense heavy rain at isolated spots.

A gradual decrease in rainfall activity is expected between August 8 and August 10, though scattered areas may still experience light rain and thundershowers.Authorities have issued a warning for the Jammu division, where heavy to intense rainfall is likely on August 2 and August 3.

Due to the expected intense spells over the next five days, torrential rains could trigger flash floods and landslides in vulnerable locations, prompting officials to advise caution for residents and travelers.
