Commercial LPG Prices Cut in Delhi and Kolkata; Domestic Rates Remain Steady

NEW DELHI AUGUST 01,2026 — In a much-needed relief for business owners, oil marketing companies (OMCs) reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders in Delhi and Kolkata on Saturday, while domestic cooking gas rates remained unchanged. This price drop comes just two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a nearly two-hour high-level meeting in Parliament with senior officials and key ministers to assess India’s readiness and supply stability amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Commercial LPG prices, which directly impact operational costs for hotels, restaurants, and commercial establishments, had previously spiked to record highs in June following the West Asia crisis. Commercial cylinder rates had soared by ₹1,373—climbing sharply from ₹1,740.50 in February to ₹3,113.50 in June. Following that peak, OMCs initiated rate cuts, including a significant ₹183.50 reduction on July 1 that brought the retail price down to ₹2,930 per cylinder in Delhi. The latest price adjustment marks the second consecutive reduction in commercial LPG rates, offering further relief to businesses navigating market volatility.
