NCC Cadets Educated on Military Medical Standards at Nagrota Camp

Nagrota, August 1: Nearly 500 National Cadet Corps cadets from Poonch and Rajouri districts attended an informative lecture on medical standards for entering the Indian Armed Forces today at Nagrota.

The awareness session was organized as part of the ongoing ten-day Annual Training Camp conducted by the 5 Jammu and Kashmir NCC Battalion, Poonch, running from July 27 to August 5 under the guidance of Commanding Officer Colonel Ajay Dhill and Administrative Officer Lieutenant Colonel Sachin Phogat.

The keynote lecture was delivered by decorated veteran and medical expert Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Adarsh Sharma, who outlined the medical eligibility criteria required for recruitment into the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force.

Addressing both male and female cadets from various schools and colleges, he highlighted common medical grounds for rejection during Service Selection and Medical Boards while advising participants on preventive healthcare, physical fitness, and lifestyle habits necessary to meet military requirements.The interactive session allowed cadets to clarify specific queries regarding fitness standards, offering actionable guidance to help them prepare in advance for recruitment examinations.

Beyond the medical briefing, the ten-day training camp encompasses a broad range of activities, including core military training, sports competitions, leadership modules, adventure sports, and educational programs aimed at fostering discipline and confidence among the participating youth.
