Lieutenant Governor Chairs Security Review Meeting in Srinagar

Srinagar, August 1: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level security review meeting in Srinagar today to assess the overall security situation and evaluate existing protective measures across the region.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dullo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, Principal Secretary Home Department Chandraker Bharti, Special DG Coordination PHQ S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, Commissioner Secretary GAD M Raju, alongside IGPs, Divisional Commissioners, SSPs, Deputy Commissioners, and other senior officials.

During the meeting, Manoj Sinha directed all Deputy Commissioners and SSPs to conduct a comprehensive review of the Standard Operating Procedures established to protect non-local laborers. He instructed that employers must ensure all workers hailing from other states and Union Territories are provided insurance and that their registration details are properly maintained with local police and district authorities.

Addressing security operations, the Lieutenant Governor called for precise and high-impact anti-terror measures to neutralize threats in the region. He also instructed authorities to ensure dignified last rites for the victims of the recent Kulgam terror attack while extending complete support to the bereaved families.

Additionally, the officials reviewed the security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and discussed strategies to further strengthen the security grid.
