Indian Army Hosts Dual Medical and Veterinary Outreach Camp in Remote Kishtwar Village

KISHTWAR, Aug 1, 2026 — Reaffirming its dedication to community welfare and rural development in remote regions, the Indian Army successfully organized a joint medical and veterinary care camp at Dul village in Kishtwar district on July 30, 2026. Designed to bridge healthcare gaps created by rugged terrain and limited infrastructure, the drive provided free medical consultations, essential check-ups, preventive health counseling, and complimentary medicines to local residents. In total, 164 civilians—comprising 72 men, 76 women, and 16 children—received vital medical treatment during the single-day outreach initiative.

Recognizing that livestock management serves as the economic backbone for families in the mountainous district, the Indian Army’s specialized veterinary unit simultaneously administered comprehensive clinical evaluations, vaccinations, and health management guidance for 84 cattle. Local villagers expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, highlighting how these sustained community support programs significantly improve overall living standards, safeguard rural livelihoods, and deliver critical medical assistance directly to underserved populations across Jammu and Kashmir.
