JAMMU, MAY 12 — Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, officially flagged off a large-scale anti-drug awareness rally today from the DC Office as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Organized in collaboration with the JKPSA under the “100 Days’ Campaign against drugs”—an initiative spearheaded by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha—the event saw vibrant participation from students across both government and private educational institutions.

As the rally wound through the streets of old Jammu city, participants carried placards and chanted slogans to sensitize the local community and youth about the devastating impact of drug addiction.

During the event, Dr. Minhas administered a solemn pledge to the students, urging them to remain vigilant against the drug menace and to prioritize their physical and mental well-being through sports and creative outlets.

He emphasized the critical role of communication, advising the youth to promptly report any instances of drug solicitation to school authorities or family members.

Chief Education Officer Ajeet Sharma also addressed the gathering, reinforcing the message of a healthy, substance-free lifestyle.

The rally was attended by several prominent figures, including JKPSA Chairman Kamal Gupta and various school principals, all united in the mission to foster a drug-free Jammu.
