US President Trump Condemns Nuclear Ambitions and Iran Protest Violence

WASHINGTON, D.C. April 15,2026 — President Donald J. Trump issued a sharp rebuke of the Iranian government and the Holy See on Wednesday, using his social media platform to highlight human rights concerns and the threat of nuclear proliferation.

In a post shared on X (Twitter ) the President addressed Pope Leo XIV directly, claiming that the Iranian regime has killed more than 42,000 unarmed protesters in the last two months.

Trump emphasized that allowing Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon is completely unacceptable to his administration, closing his message with his signature slogan, “AMERICA IS BACK!!!

The President’s comments follow an intensifying public disagreement between the White House and the Vatican. Pope Leo, the first American-born pontiff, has recently been vocal in his opposition to expanded military actions and has called for diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts.

Trump’s message aimed to challenge the Pope’s stance by drawing attention to the scale of violence against civilians within Iran. While the 42,000 figure cited by the President exceeds estimates from several international human rights monitoring groups, it underscores the administration’s hardline position against Tehran.

The text of the post read: “Will someone please tell Pope Leo that Iran has killed at least 42,000 innocent, completely unarmed, protesters in the last two months, and that for Iran to have a Nuclear Bomb is absolutely unacceptable. Thank you for your attention to this matter. AMERICA IS BACK!!!
