Udhampur police attaches property worth 20 lakh belonging to drug peddler
UDHAMPUR, June 16 — Udhampur Police attached an immovable property valued at 20 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan. The enforcement action targets Shubam Prashar, also known as Cobra, a resident of Roun Domail in Udhampur.
The property seizure was executed under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act following investigations that revealed the assets were acquired directly through the proceeds of illegal narcotics trafficking.The legal attachment is linked to an existing criminal case registered at the Udhampur Police Station under FIR Number 57/2026, which includes multiple sections of the NDPS Act.
Police officials stated that this action underscores their rigorous commitment to dismantling the financial networks of drug traffickers in the region.
The department reaffirmed its strategy to intensify punitive measures against drug peddlers while simultaneously running community awareness campaigns to protect local youth from substance abuse.
