Udhampur Police Attach Assets Worth 13.8 Lakhs Belonging to Drug Peddlers Under NDPS Act
UDHAMPUR, April 18, 2026:- As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, the Udhampur Police have intensified their crackdown on narcotics trafficking by attaching movable properties valued at approximately 13.8 lakhs in two separate cases.
Under the provisions of Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, authorities seized a Honda City car worth 12 lakhs belonging to Rafiq Ahmed of Jammu, following an investigation into FIR No. 49/2026 at the Rehambal Police Station.
Investigators determined that the vehicle was acquired through the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking, leading to its formal attachment as part of the legal proceedings against the accused.In a concurrent action related to FIR No. 37/2026, the police also attached two high-end mobile phones, an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a OnePlus 6T, worth a combined 1.8 lakhs.
These items belonged to Mehraj-ul-Bashir and Mohd Ganie, both residents of Baramulla, and were identified as assets purchased from money generated through the illegal narcotics trade.
With these latest seizures, the total value of properties attached by the Udhampur Police under this anti-drug campaign has reached 25 lakhs.
This move reflects the department’s firm commitment to dismantling the financial networks of drug peddlers while continuing awareness efforts to protect the youth from substance abuse.
