Surendranath College Professor Biva Samadder promoted to Captain in NCC
Kolkata: 11 May 2026:- In a prestigious pipping ceremony conducted by the Additional Director General of the West Bengal and Sikkim Directorate, Biva Samadder was officially promoted from Lieutenant to Captain.
Samadder serves as a Professor at Surendranath College and acts as the Associate NCC Officer for the 2 Bengal Battalion NCC.
The promotion marks another milestone in her distinguished career, which began as an NCC cadet and has since been defined by a deep commitment to leadership and the development of young volunteers
.Captain Samadder brings a wealth of experience and accolades to her new rank, including being a two-time winner of the Governor’s Medal and a recipient of the Governor’s Scroll of Honour.
Having been recognized as the Best Associate NCC Officer on four separate occasions, she has consistently demonstrated excellence under the West Bengal and Sikkim Directorate.
Her ongoing dedication to nation-building serves as a significant inspiration for cadets, encouraging many to pursue careers in the Armed Forces with pride and discipline.
