SSP Jammu Joginder Singh leads major World Environment Day green drive at police headquarters

JAMMU, June 5, 2026 :- The District Police Jammu organized a comprehensive plantation drive at the District Police Office premises to mark World Environment Day and reinforce institutional commitment toward environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The green initiative was aimed at actively promoting ecological awareness, fostering eco-friendly practices among the staff, and contributing directly toward building a healthier environment within the urban landscape.

The plantation drive was led by SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, who was joined by the DySP Headquarters Jammu, the ADO DPO Jammu, and various other police personnel in planting a diverse range of saplings across the headquarters grounds.

Speaking during the event, the SSP emphasized that protecting the environment is a collective responsibility shared by every citizen to preserve natural resources for future generations.

He noted that because police personnel are an integral part of the fabric of society, they must lead by example in advancing environmental sustainability and raising public awareness.The senior officer further observed that regular plantation drives do more than just enhance the visual appeal of local surroundings, noting that they play a critical role in combating regional climate change, improving air quality levels, and maintaining proper ecological balance.

He urged all ranks of the police force alongside members of the general public to actively participate in localized conservation efforts and integrate sustainable habits into their daily routines.

The commemorative event concluded with a joint pledge by all participating officers and staff to continuously contribute toward environmental protection and work collectively for a cleaner, greener future.
