Sainik School Nagrota Secures Silver at IPSC Basketball Championship 2026

Jammu | May 12, 2026 :-Sainik School Nagrota has bolstered its reputation for athletic excellence by securing the runners-up trophy at the prestigious IPSC Basketball Championship 2026. Competing in the U-17 Boys category from May 8 to May 10 at Pestle Weed School in Dehradun, the Nagrota cadets emerged as a dominant force among 21 elite schools from across India. Their journey to the podium was marked by clinical performances and tactical discipline, highlighting the rigorous sports culture fostered within the institution.

The team’s path to the finals featured a series of convincing victories, beginning with a 30-15 win over Sainik School Kunjpura, followed by a 29-11 defeat of Welham Boys School and a 43-19 triumph against Birla Public School. The highlight of their campaign was a high-stakes, nail-biting encounter against MNSS Rai, where Nagrota displayed immense composure to edge out their opponents with a final score of 47-44. Despite facing stiff competition from the host institution and Mann School, the cadets’ consistent scoring and defensive tenacity earned them the overall second position. This achievement has been met with widespread celebration by the Principal and staff, who praised the team for bringing significant honor to the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
