RVC Polo Team Clinches Victory as Meerut Polo Cup Returns After Two Decades
MEERUT, April 21, 2026 — The historic Meerut Polo Cup made a grand return to the Kothawala Polo Ground at Meerut Cantt after a hiatus of 22 years, successfully reviving a storied equestrian legacy.
The prestigious event was jointly organized by the Paschim Uttar Pradesh Sub Area and the Remount Veterinary Corps College and Centre, showcasing top-tier horsemanship and military sportsmanship. In a highly competitive final match, the RVC Polo Team emerged victorious over the 61 Cavalry to claim the winner’s trophy, which was presented by Major General Sumit Rana, General Officer Commanding of the Paschim Uttar Pradesh Sub Area.
The tournament served as a platform to highlight the Indian Army’s dedicated efforts toward promoting equestrian excellence, with Agniveers participating with notable skill and enthusiasm.
Beyond the polo matches, the event featured a variety of military displays, including high-speed tent pegging by the RTS&D Hempur team and specialized K9 demonstrations.
