Punjab AGTF Apprehends Foreign-Based Gangster Operative in Bathinda
BATHINDA, August 11, 2026 — The Anti-Gangster Task Force of Punjab Police achieved a major breakthrough by apprehending an operative affiliated with a foreign-based gangster network.
During the operation, security forces recovered one country-made .32 bore pistol along with two live cartridges from the possession of the accused.Preliminary investigations revealed that the operative had procured the illegal firearm under the directions of a handler based abroad to execute a major crime in the state. The individual has a prior criminal record involving offences under the Arms Act and other criminal cases. An FIR has been registered at Kotwali Police Station in Bathinda under relevant provisions of the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway as Punjab Police continues its crackdown to dismantle organized crime networks across the state.
