Over five hundred trainees pledge against drug abuse at PTTI Vijaypur yoga and Nasha Mukt Abhiyan event

VIJAYPUR, JUNE 12, 2026 — Police Technical Training Institute Vijaypur organized a comprehensive yoga session and Nasha Mukt Abhiyan initiative in collaboration with the Samba Department of AYUSH under the guidance of Ranjit Singh Sambyal, Principal of PTTI Vijaypur.

Held under the theme Yoga for Healthy Ageing, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from institute staff and more than 500 trainees.

Inaugurating the programme, Ranjit Singh Sambyal highlighted the importance of yoga as an effective means of maintaining physical fitness, mental wellness, and overall well-being, emphasizing that regular practice helps individuals lead a disciplined, healthy life while enhancing resilience and productivity.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Diviya Sharma, Medical Officer at AYUSH CHC Ramgarh, and Dr. Tabassum Choudhary, Medical Officer at GAD Salmeri, who both spoke about the significant role of yoga in promoting physical and mental health, particularly in ensuring healthy ageing, and encouraged participants to adopt yoga as an integral part of their daily routine.

A practical session followed, featuring a demonstration of the Common Yoga Protocol by experienced yoga instructors Dinesh Kumar, Rajini Kumari, and Monika Sharma. Staff members and trainees actively participated in various yoga exercises and breathing techniques, displaying great enthusiasm and commitment towards the practice.As part of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, all participants took a solemn pledge to remain free from all forms of intoxication and to actively contribute towards building a healthy, drug-free society.

This pledge reinforced the commitment of the institute to create awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a culture of fitness and wellness among police personnel.

Ranjit Singh Sambyal expressed his gratitude to the AYUSH Department team for their valuable contribution and expertise, praising their efforts in spreading awareness about the benefits of yoga and supporting initiatives aimed at fostering a healthy lifestyle.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment by all participants towards adopting healthy habits, with notable attendance from Devinder Gupta, Satish Kumar, and Asif Iqbal, along with faculty members, staff, and trainees of the institute.
