Omar Abdullah Condemns Kulgam Killings: ₹10 Lakh Ex-Gratia Announced for Slain Labourers’ Families

SRINAGAR, August 1,2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has strongly condemned the tragic killing of two labourers in Kulgam, announcing an ex-gratia relief of ₹10 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the families of the victims.

Expressing profound grief over the incident, the Chief Minister confirmed that this financial assistance will supplement the ₹6 lakh in immediate relief already provided by the district administration. Extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, he reaffirmed that the government stands firmly with them during this hour of grief and offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed souls and strength for the families to bear the irreparable loss.
