Kathua SSP reviews security arrangements for upcoming pilgrimage

KATHUA, June 25: Kathua Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma conducted a comprehensive tour of the pilgrimage route to assess security and logistical arrangements for the upcoming yatra.

During the inspection, the SSP reviewed the deployment of personnel at various locations, verified the available strength, and interacted with officers and security personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Armed Police Forces deployed for yatra duties.

Officers and personnel were briefed on security protocols, operational preparedness, and the importance of maintaining constant vigilance to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage.As part of the tour, the SSP inspected several critical locations, including the reception centre at Lakhanpur and the Moga Langar site, to review arrangements made for the convenience and security of pilgrims.

Extensive security measures have been put in place this year, featuring the deployment of additional police and paramilitary personnel supported by advanced surveillance and security equipment, including anti-drone systems.

A robust, multi-layered security grid has been established along the National Highway, key railway infrastructure, and the border belt, while traditional infiltration routes have been effectively secured through heavy deployment and intensified surveillance to eliminate vulnerabilities during the yatra period.

Emphasizing the coordinated approach adopted for the pilgrimage, the SSP stated that the Jammu and Kashmir Police, paramilitary forces, civil administration, and other stakeholder agencies are working in close synergy to ensure the smooth, secure, and successful conduct of the yatra.

Several district officers accompanied the SSP during the inspection to jointly review preparedness measures at various points along the route.
