Doda completes preparation for massive Pulse Polio immunization campaign
DODA, June 25: Extensive arrangements have been finalized across Doda district for the upcoming Pulse Polio immunization drive scheduled for June 28. A network of 507 static Pulse Polio booths has been established throughout the region, supplemented by 22 special booths deployed to ensure coverage for children residing in nomadic settlements and remote, higher reaches.
To execute the intensive health campaign smoothly, the administration has deployed 1,014 dedicated vaccination teams consisting of 2,028 frontline health workers and 101 supervisors.Chief Medical Officer Vinod Sharma issued an appeal to all parents and guardians across the district, urging them to bring every child between zero and five years old to their nearest booth for the administration of life-saving polio drops.
Echoing the call for total coverage, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Sat Lal Manhas requested active cooperation from community leaders, Panchayati Raj Institution representatives, religious heads, teachers, and media professionals to generate widespread awareness. He emphasized that collective community mobilization is vital to motivate families, vaccinate every eligible child, and safeguard the polio-free status of the district.
