Javed Rana reviews Jal Shakti infrastructure development projects in Pampore constituency

SRINAGAR, June 25: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana reviewed the progress of various Jal Shakti sector works being executed in the Pampore constituency.

During the review meeting held at the Civil Secretariat, the Minister instructed officers to explore all possible options for commissioning schemes that are nearing completion but pending due to minor works, ensuring these projects become operational at the earliest to benefit the local population.

Emphasizing the necessity of timely execution, he directed the concerned officers to resolve all pending land compensation cases in a time-bound manner to prevent developmental delays. MLA Pampore Hasnain Masoodi, alongside directors of finance and planning from the Jal Shakti Department and several executive engineers from irrigation, hydraulic, and groundwater divisions, attended the session.

The Minister also assessed the status of ongoing works under the AMRUT scheme for Pampore town, stressing the importance of maintaining strict quality standards while meeting completion timelines. Turning to flood management measures within the constituency, he directed the concerned authorities to strengthen flood protection infrastructure well in advance of the rainy season to avert any untoward situations.

He emphasized that proactive preventive measures must be established so that residents do not face inconvenience. Underlining the need for seamless coordination among stakeholder departments for effective scheme implementation, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to delivering improved drinking water and robust flood protection.

He concluded by directing officers to make judicious use of available resources and ensure that no allocated funds lapse, noting that optimum fund utilization is critical to achieving desired developmental outcomes.
