Crime Branch EOW Jammu files chargesheet against two for securing government job with fake certificate
JAMMU, June 25: The Economic Offences Wing of the Crime Branch Jammu presented a chargesheet against two individuals accused of using a forged school leaving certificate to secure a government job.
The legal action was initiated following a written complaint filed by Khursheed Ahmed Naik of Ramban district, which led to the registration of a formal case. The investigation, conducted by Inspector Meenu Sharma, established that the accused prepared and utilized the fabricated document to obtain employment in the Social Welfare Department at Khari, Ramban, in 2016, thereby cheating the department and causing a significant loss to the state exchequer.
The chargesheet was presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Ramban against Ghulam Nabi Naik and his daughter-in-law Shakeela Bano, both residents of village Khari. The investigation revealed sufficient evidence that Ghulam Nabi Naik assisted in the preparation and deployment of the forged certificate for his daughter-in-law to secure the position.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Branch EOW Jammu Faisal Qureshi reiterated the department’s unwavering commitment to taking strict action against individuals involved in forgery and fraud, urging the general public to report such unlawful activities so that culprits can be brought to justice.
