NHAI organizes workshop to strengthen public private partnership framework for national highway development

NEW DELHI, June 25, 2026 – The National Highways Authority of India organized a Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on the Model Concession Agreement for a new model of Public-Private Partnership.

The event brought together key stakeholders from the highway authority, NITI Aayog, the Department of Financial Services, and various other financial and infrastructure organizations. The primary focus of the session was to deliberate on strengthening the partnership framework specifically for the development of national highways.

NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav set the context for the consultation by highlighting the importance of evolving public-private partnership models to meet the changing needs of the highway sector. Following this, Member of Public-Private Partnerships K. Venkata Ramana delivered a detailed presentation on the proposed framework.

This presentation led into an open and constructive discussion with participants, who shared valuable suggestions and feedback.The workshop concluded with a clear way forward for refining the proposed framework through continued stakeholder engagement.

The ultimate objective of these ongoing discussions is to develop a robust, transparent, and future-ready public-private partnership model that can accelerate the development of world-class national highway infrastructure across the country.
