Kathua Regional Transport Authority approves new public transport route permits
KATHUA, June 16 — Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, who also serves as the Chairman of the Regional Transport Authority, chaired a comprehensive meeting today to review public transport operations and regulate road permits across the district.
The authority evaluated a series of applications for fresh route permits, aiming to enhance connectivity and streamline commuter transport options for the public.Following detailed deliberations with key stakeholders, the Regional Transport Authority approved a total of 14 new permits.
The newly sanctioned approvals include nine mini-bus permits, four four-wheeler auto permits, and one taxi cab permit under the All Jammu and Kashmir Contract Carriage category.
Five additional applications, consisting of three mini-bus and two four-wheeler auto permit cases, were deferred for further consideration at the next scheduled meeting.The regulatory review meeting was attended by Regional Transport Officer and Member Secretary Surinder Paul Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters Ravinder Singh, and several other concerned administrative officials.
