Jammu and Kashmir Weather Forecast: Thundershowers and Gusty Winds Predicted Through April 19
SRINAGAR April 16,2026 :- The Meteorological Department has issued a weather update for Jammu and Kashmir, indicating a shift from mostly dry conditions to a period of active thundershowers and potential hailstorms.
While April 16 is expected to remain largely dry, a few isolated areas may witness thundershowers by late afternoon or evening. This activity is set to intensify on April 17, with a high possibility of thundershowers across many areas, particularly within the Kashmir region, though no continuous spells are anticipated.
The weather system is expected to peak between April 18 and April 19, bringing thundershowers to most parts of the Union Territory. Residents should prepare for varying impacts as the intensity is likely to increase starting Saturday night and persist into Sunday.
Meteorological officials have also warned of gusty winds and occasional hailstorms during this window. Consequently, farmers are advised to suspend orchard spraying until after April 19.
Looking ahead, a return to mostly dry weather is forecasted from April 20 through April 23.
