INS Airavat completes Colombo visit after handing over essential supplies

Colombo, june 5, 2026 :- Indian Naval Ship Airavat departed Colombo today following the successful completion of a three-day operational turnaround.

The visit underscored the ongoing maritime cooperation and close bilateral ties between India and Sri Lanka.During its stay, the ship handed over critical spare parts for the main engines of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard Ship Suraksha.

Additionally, the crew delivered essential supply items intended for the Sri Lanka Navy to support their operational readiness.

In a notable addition to its return journey, INS Airavat embarked the remnants from a successful Indian Space Research Organisation GSLV Mk 3 launch.

These components had previously washed ashore on the east coast of Sri Lanka and are now being transported back to India.
