IAF AN-32 Transport Aircraft Catches Fire After Landing Accident at Assam’s Jorhat Airbase
JORHAT, Assam June 13, 2026 — An Antonov AN-32 transport aircraft belonging to the Indian Air Force (IAF) met with an accident and subsequently caught fire while attempting to land at the Jorhat Air Force Station in Assam.
According to military officials, the incident occurred during the aircraft’s landing sequence inside the airbase premises. The touchdown mishap triggered an immediate emergency response as the transport plane reportedly burst into flames upon coming to a halt, prompting base personnel to launch rapid containment protocols.
Following the crash, emergency response teams and fire brigade units stationed at the Jorhat airfield rushed to the scene to initiate intense firefighting operations to bring the blaze under control.
Senior IAF officials and a defense spokesperson quickly mobilized to the crash site to supervise the rescue and safety operations.
