Ghulam Nabi Azad Condemns Terrorism and Remembers Victims of Pahalgam Attack
Srinagar, April 22, 2026:-Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, took to social media today to honor the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack on its first anniversary.
Reflecting on the tragedy that occurred one year ago, the former Union Minister expressed profound sorrow for the 25 innocent tourists and the courageous local resident who lost their lives in what he described as a brutal and heinous act of violence.
Azad emphasized that while the attack was a direct strike against civilians, it also represented a deeper assault on the cultural soul and values of Kashmir.
Despite the gravity of the past violence, the former Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha highlighted the enduring strength of the region. He noted that Kashmir has remained remarkably resilient and united in its collective journey toward achieving lasting peace and justice.
Azad reaffirmed his commitment to the total eradication of terrorism from the landscape, paying homage to the deceased while looking toward a future defined by security and hope.
