Ganderbal Police Seize Drug Peddler’s Vehicle in Anti-Narcotics Crackdown

GANDERBAL, June 18, 2026 — As part of the ongoing “100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan,” police in Ganderbal have successfully attached a vehicle valued at approximately 3.50 lakhs belonging to a local drug peddler, Arshid Shafi Bhat. The enforcement action, conducted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, follows the investigation into Case FIR No. 180/2023.

Authorities determined that the vehicle was procured using funds generated from illicit narcotics trafficking and served as a primary tool for facilitating drug distribution. By seizing this asset, police aim to dismantle the financial foundations of criminal networks operating within the region. Law enforcement officials emphasized that this action serves as a stern warning to those involved in the illegal narcotics trade and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to eliminating drug abuse from the community. The department continues to urge the public to assist in these efforts by reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station to help ensure a safer, drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
