Dr. Jitendra Singh to Chair 16th Pension Adalat for Rapid Grievance Redressal

NEW DELHI, MAY 12, 2026 — Jitendra Singh is set to preside over the 16th Pension Adalat tomorrow, May 13, at Vigyan Bhawan, continuing a dedicated effort to streamline the resolution of retired government employees’ concerns. Organized by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DOPPW), this session aims to address 985 long-pending grievances through an “on-the-spot” redressal mechanism. These cases, which have remained unresolved for more than 45 days on the CPENGRAMS portal, span 37 different ministries and departments, with a significant concentration of issues originating from the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Home Affairs. To ensure nationwide reach, the Adalat will function in a hybrid format, allowing pensioners from across India to participate alongside officials in New Delhi.

The initiative operates under a “whole of government” approach, a strategy designed to bring all relevant stakeholders together on a single platform to eliminate bureaucratic delays. By providing immediate decisions, the Pension Adalat serves as a critical alternative to lengthy and expensive litigation, saving retirees significant time and financial resources. Since the program’s inception in 2017, the DOPPW has successfully handled 27,812 cases over 15 sessions. With an impressive immediate success rate of over 71%, totaling 19,948 redressed grievances, the forum has established itself as an essential pillar of the government’s commitment to the empowerment and welfare of central government pensioners.
