CBI Arrests DGCA Deputy Director General in New Delhi Bribery Scandal
NEW DELHI, April 19, 2026 — The Central Bureau of Investigation has apprehended a Deputy Director General serving at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation headquarters in New Delhi, alongside a representative from a private firm, in connection with a bribery investigation.
The enforcement action follows allegations that the public official, stationed within the Airworthiness Directorate, solicited illegal gratification in exchange for granting regulatory approvals and processing pending applications.
While the immediate case centered on a specific transaction of Rs. 2.5 Lakhs—which was successfully seized by authorities—subsequent raids across four separate locations in the capital revealed significantly more assets.
During these searches at the premises of the accused individuals, investigators recovered an additional Rs. 37 Lakhs in cash, a collection of gold and silver coins, and several digital devices.
The CBI, which officially registered the case on April 18, 2026, continues to investigate the scope of the corruption and the digital evidence seized during the operation.
